Into the Unown - Signups Open
Sunday, 1 March 2026 20:07
Signups are now open for both writers and podficcers for the Into the Unown round! They will close for writers at 20:00PM UTC on Sunday 8 March. Signups for podficcers close at 20:00PM UTC on 17 March.
As our event isn't a traditional AO3 exchange or prompt challenge, signups will take place via Google Forms. Assignments will be sent via email, though final works (fic and podfic) must be posted to our AO3 Collection. If you do not already have an AO3 account and would like one, please contact a mod to request an invite code.

Click here for the podficcer signup form. It will ask for your email address, AO3 handle, and how many stories you would like to podfic for this event. Please ensure that the email address you enter is one you regularly check, as your mods will use it to share the stories you've assigned to read and may reach out at any point during the project. The project email address is pokepodproject@gmail.com
If you're feeling adventurous and would like to sign up as both a writer and podficcer, please fill out both of the above forms.
Have questions or need assistance with your signup? Visit our contact a mod post and we'll be happy to help. Thank you for taking part - we can't wait to see what you create!

2/3/26 10:28 (UTC)What might make them different is entirely up to you and how you interpret your Unown form(s). This Pokemon perhaps presents more of a writing challenge than normal, but I'm looking forward to people's creative interpretations.
Some ideas I've had personally, if it helps the inspiration flow:
- Does the Unown look like something else from the real/Pokemon world? (I think Unown Q looks like a key, so I wonder if Klefki would be interested in it!) Perhaps the Unown is drawn to things of similar shape or tries to mimic them with interesting results!
- In Legends Arceus, I really enjoyed the challenge of finding Unown that were hiding around the game world. The Unown's location might become the setting for a story about them.
- Certain Unown forms have featured in episodes of the anime! If assigned one of those forms, perhaps that canonical Unown could have extra or pre-/post-canon adventures with their new friends in fic form.
- Perhaps the Unown want to send a message to the humans but are missing an essential symbol and need to track it down to complete it!
- Silly but... trying to cram as many words that start with the Unown's corresponding letter into your story as possible??
It's perfectly fine for an Unown form to simply be part of a story that doesn't focus on their symbol shape too, these are just things that came to mind for me. I really hope this helps :)
