This year's PokePod AO3 collection and Rare Candies collection will reveal in three hours, so this is your reminder to re-date your works! Re-dating means your fics and pods will show up at the top of their fandom tags when people search by new, rather than stay buried back in August/September.

To re-date, locate your work(s) by navigating to your Works page (using AO3's left sidebar link) then clicking the “Works in Collections” button, top right. Open the work, hit edit, and scroll to the “Set a different publication date” checkbox. When you select the checkbox, a dropdown will appear. Change the work’s publication date to today, then save by hitting post. It may take a few minutes to take effect.

Other suggested checks:
- Don’t forget to add any podfic tags you might want and "[Podfic]" or "Podfic of:" to your title, however you like to signify that.
- Is the Pokemon you wrote about tagged as a character? Many people browse the collection (or AO3) by searching the Pokemon's name. If they're tagged, it easier for them to find your story!

All this year's podfics are in! The next step is compiling the anthology audiobook, which is on track to be revealed 9 October at 20:00PM (UTC) along with the main collection. (We'll post a reminder nearer the time to redate your works.)

Thank you so much to all the podficcers, writers, and superstar pinch hitters who made this possible.

Our Rare Candies collection for this year will also be revealed along with the main collection, so if you’ve any generation two treats in you, that’s the place to post them.

Well done everyone! See you in just under a week 💙

Thanks to our writers and writer pinch hitters, all stories for gen two Pokemon are in! We'll start accepting podfics to the collection in the next few days. (There are already so many. Thank you lovely podficcers for your enthusiasm!)

In other news, we have an updated podfic cover sticker that podficcers are welcome to include on their covers for the event. It's 100% optional, just a fun thing to spice up your pods if you'd like to make it even more obvious which event it was made for ;) Thank you so much [archiveofourown.org profile] elany for the reminder to share our sticker for this year's collection!

All podficcer assignments have now been sent via email. If you haven’t received yours (and it’s not in your spam/junk folder), please contact us confirming your AO3 username and email address. The deadline for podfics is Sunday 28 September, 20:00PM UTC.

Adopt-a-Pokemon (aka pinch hits) will be posted shortly.

We hope you enjoy your assignments! Happy podficcing🎙️💙

Writer signups are now closed. Thank you so much to everyone who signed up!

We are now matching participants to Pokemon and will send out assignment emails before 22 Aug, 20:00PM UTC at the latest. With the number of signups, we are not expecting there to be any initial pinch hits, but keep an eye on this community for updates on which Pokemon need adopting during the writing period.

You can still sign up as a podficcer until 12 September.

There are a little under 24 hours remaining for writers to sign up to The PokePod Project. Signups close at 20:00PM UTC on Wednesday 20 August. Here’s a countdown to that time.

As a reminder, podficcer signups are open throughout the writing period and close 12 September!

You can find our signup post here.

We’re stoked to announce that the PokéPod Project is returning for a second round!

This year, there will be 99 Pokémon (all generation two Pokémon minus Unown – see below) included in the anthology. You can see the full list of generation two Pokémon here.

We have decided not to include Unown in the gen two anthology. As they have 28 forms, we will instead run a mini project between this round and Generation Three’s, in which every Unown form will get their own story and podfic! They’ll each have their time to shine.

Changes this year
Beyond basic schedule shifting, we will be capping writer signups at 99. We don’t expect to hit this, as 65 writers took part for gen one, but as we only have 99 Pokémon to assign this year, any writers signing up after that cap would have no Pokémon to write for!

We will announce on our DW and Tumblr if the cap is reached and close the Google Form.

Signups will open tomorrow, and we can’t wait to get started. See you there!

Unfortunately, there will be a 2-hour delay for reveals. The new reveals time will be 22:00PM UTC.

The Internet Archive is down, and many podficcers use this to host their audio files and cover art, so if we revealed now, a large percentage of the collection's podfics wouldn't be visible. We want everyone to experience the same reveals exciement! Our anthology also uses the Internet Archive for hosting, so our reveals post would essentially be a "coming soon" if we revealed now 😂

We have our fingers crossed that everything will be back online within two hours (this is very rare!) and thank you all for your patience!

As the collection will be revealed in two hours, this is a reminder to writers and podficcers who've submitted works to the PokePod Project's AO3 collection to re-date their works. Re-dating your work means it will show up in the fandom tags when people search by new, rather than be buried back in August/September.

To re-date, first find the work(s) in question. You can do this via your Works in Collections works filter, which can be found by opening your Works page (using the left sidebar link) then clicking the "Works in Collections" filter button, top right. You can find these works directly by adding your username to this URL: https://archiveofourown.org/users/YOURNAME/works/collected

Then, open the work, hit edit, and scroll to the "Set a different publication date" checkbox. When you select the checkbox, a dropdown will open. Set the work's reveals date to today, then save this by hitting post on the work.

Podficcers: Don't forget to add any relevant podfic tags you might want, such as the canonical "Podfic & Podficced Works" and any length tags. You might also have forgotten to add [Podfic] to your title! If you used a discord URL for coverart, it's not showing up and these are no longer reliable for hosting.

See you in two hours!

All podfics are in! The next step is compiling the anthology audiobook, which is on track to be released on Tuesday at 20:00PM UTC along with the main collection reveal. Thank you so much to all the podficcers and podfic pinch hitters who came together to produce 151 podfics in two weeks!

In the meantime, we suggest updating your AO3 profile to include "Podfic welcome" if you don't already have a statement. This is not compulsory for the project, though we have a podficcer helper on hand who has volunteered to go through all creator profiles from this project after reveals and, if a podfic statement is found, add those creators to www.fpslist.org This site is a directory of podfic permission statements by fanwork creators and extremely helpful for podficcers to find works to record. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask them here. Thank you [archiveofourown.org profile] JocundaSykes for your kind assistance with this!

The Rare Candies collection will also be revealed on Tuesday, so if you've any generation one treats in you, that's the place to post them.

We have also just posted podficcer signup stats to our Tumblr, where an unexpected Pokemon comes out on top when it comes to podficcer's favourites. Here's the writer stats for comparison.

Well done everyone! See you on Tuesday 💚

There are a little under 24 hours remaining until the podfic submission deadline for the PokéPod Project! We hope you’re having fun with your podfic assignments and pinch hits.

Please note that the deadline is 20:00PM UTC, which could be earlier or later in the day than you might be used to for event deadlines, depending on your time zone. Here's a countdown. After that time, any Pokémon that don’t have podfics submitted to the collection will go out to pinch hitters (unless we've already discussed an alternative submission time with you), so be sure to check the deadline time in your country.

Podficcers, please keep an eye out here and/or our Tumblr for our updated Adopt-a-Pokemon thread in the coming days, as there may be Pokemon in need of a pinch hitter after the deadline.

We are very excited to announce that all 151 Pokémons currently have a fic in the collection! Thank you to every writer who's contributed to this number and the success of this project. We hope you're looking forward to diving into so many little stories featuring classic Pokémons!

On the podfic side, we will now start approving pods we've gotten and will keep approving them as they come in. The deadline for podfics is still October 1st, 20:00PM UTC. Right now, every Pokémon is being taken care of, but we will keep you updated as needed on both Dreamwidth and Tumblr.

Cheering on our hard-at-work podficcers! 💚

Thank you so much to everyone who's volunteered for pinch hitting, whether for writing or podding! As of right now, everything has been snatched up, and we're keeping our fingers crossed for everything to open on time. Watch this space in the next few days, in case a new batch goes up!

In other news, we were inspired by [archiveofourown.org profile] kbirb to create a little sticker/icon that you can put on your podfic covers for the event! It is free to use and 100% optional, just a fun thing to spice up your pod if you'd like to make it even more obvious what it was made for. :)

Once again, a huge thank you to all our pinch hitters! 💚

There are a little over 24 hours remaining until the writing deadline for the PokéPod Project! We hope you’re having fun with your assignment. That means there are also 24 hours remaining to sign up as a podficcer.

Please note that the deadline for both is 20:00PM UTC, which could be earlier or later in the day than you might be used to for event deadlines, depending on your time zone. Here's a countdown. After that time, any Pokémon that don’t have stories submitted to the collection will go out to pinch hitters (unless we've already discussed an alternative submission time with you), so be sure to check the deadline time in your country.

If you’re looking to be a pinch hitter rather than signing up officially, please keep an eye out here and/or our Tumblr for our Adopt-a-Pokemon thread in the coming days. There will be writing and podfic pinch hits available!

There are only seven days remaining for writers to submit their stories to the collection! The deadline is 17 September at 20:00PM (UTC). Here's a countdown. Good luck to everyone still working on their assignments 💚

If, for whatever reason, you can no longer fulfil your assignment, please let us know so we can find a new writer to adopt your assigned Pokemon. The best way to do this would be replying directly to your assignment email.

This also means there is one week remaining for podficcers to sign up for the project. If you can't sign up but are interested in spreading the word about this event and helping us find more interested podficcers (thank you!), here's a shareable image and some text. Feel free to alter it however you'd like.

There is a little under 24 hours remaining for writers to sign up to The PokePod Project. Signups close at 20:00PM UTC on Sunday 25 August. Here’s a countdown to that time.

We're thrilled to share that we now have more stories offered than there are Pokemon available in Generation One! Don't worry, this doesn't mean you can't still participate if you were considering it - it just means writers offering multiple stories might not be assigned as many as they offered.

Signups will remain open for another four days (here's a countdown).

Over a third of the 151 have podfic offers too! 🎉

If you enjoy STATS, here are the Pokemon that have been most offered by our writer participants so far:
  • Most offered: Eevee (44% of writers)
  • 2nd most offered: Ninetales and Flareon (35%)
  • 3rd: Vulpix (34%)
And the most popular Pokemon offered by our podficcers:
  • Most offered: Jigglypuff (57% of podficcers)
  • 2nd most offered: Charmander (50%)
  • Joint 3rd: Oddish, Squirtle, Vulpix, Ninetales, and Mew (43%)

We have added clarification to our rule on archive warnings.

The rule now reads:

Works should not include any of AO3’s archive warnings (Graphic Depictions of Violence, Major Character Death, Rape/Non-Con, and Underage.) Canon-typical violence, such as battling, is fine. Canonical themes of death and grief, such as the ghosts of Pokemon Tower or Cubone's deceased mother, are fine.

The bolded text is the newly added clarification.

Thank you!
